One reason United Methodists are able to accomplish great things is the church’s emphasis on “connectionalism.” It is common to hear United Methodist leaders speak of the denomination as “the connection.” This concept has been central to Methodism from its beginning.
ABOUT UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
We have music programs for every
age and talent:
Music is an important part of Memorial's worship
experience. We seek to praise God with a wide
variety of traditional and contemporary music in all
of our activities. The following are different ways
anyone can get involved with our music program.
Adult Choir
Adult Choir is open to senior high and adult
singers. We practice during the school year on
Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. We sing for
Sunday services and do special music for the
Christmas and Easter seasons. We welcome all
singers, no experience necessary. Come and
enjoy the fun !
Junior Choir
Junior Choir is open to elementary-aged students from 2nd grade to 6th grade. We sing once a month during the school year starting in September and ending in May. Come join us for practice on Wednesday evenings.
Memorial Minstrels
Memorial Minstrels is a contemporary music group that provides music for contemporary services, special events, and occasional Sunday services. It is a group of musicians playing guitar, bass, keyboard instruments, and always looking to add new talent.
Memorial's Bell Choir
Memorial's Bell Choir is open to senior high and adult ringers. The group practices during the school year and performs for Sunday services and special events. The Bell Choir plays 5 octaves of Malmark Handbells and 3 octaves of Malmark Choir Chimes. Reading music is helpful, but all that’s required is a sense of rhythm and fun!
