There is a small Christian Clowning group at
Memorial. Christian Clowns are individuals
who have gone through special training and
provide inspirational and thought-provoking
messages through mime, costume and music.
The group has performed for Sunday Services,
retreats and often has the opportunity to
perform or train at other churches. This is a
unique ministry and speaks without words.
The white face of a Christian Clown represents
a death to our earthly self, and the colors
represent new birth through Christ. If you are
interested in finding out more about this
ministry, contact Peg Arnold.
One reason United Methodists are able to accomplish great things is the church’s emphasis on “connectionalism.” It is common to hear United Methodist leaders speak of the denomination as “the connection.” This concept has been central to Methodism from its beginning.
