Pastor's Welcome
Memorial United Methodist Church (UMC) is a vital congregation where we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world in response to The Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20. Memorial can do all things through Christ who guides and sustains us. As we grow in our discipleship, we:
•
Celebrate God’s love during our Traditional Worship Service
every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and in our contemporary service, Celebrating
Grace, at 6:30 p.m. the second Sunday of each month during the
school year. We also offer special services Christmas Eve, Holy Week
and Easter. During our worship services as well as our 9:15 a.m. Sunday
School classes for all ages, the preaching and teaching are relevant for
your everyday life. Nursery is available during the Sunday morning
Worship Service;
•
Connect as we worship and study as well as informally when
we come together as families for food, fun and fellowship. These are
intergenerational activities where familiar traditions are taught and new
ones come to life;
•
Develop our spirituality as we grow deeper in our relationships with God and with each other. Mature disciples help others grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord through Bible studies, small group ministries and many activities for children and youth;
•
Serve God, each other, our community and the world by participating in mission work such as our annual work camp, Habitat for Humanity, and Rebuilding Together. Along with other churches in the community, we help provide food and assistance for families in need through Western Upper Montgomery County Help (WUMCO). We also respond to emergencies by providing assistance in natural disasters through the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
•
Share God’s love in the way we live our lives. We also share with other people about God’s signs and wonders we recognize and experience every day.
It is my privilege to serve as Pastor of Memorial UMC and to participate in its many ministries. As you explore our website, I hope you will decide to come to Memorial so you can experience first-hand the love of God when you join with us as together we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ.
Rev. Patricia (“Pastor Pat”) Dols
One reason United Methodists are able to accomplish great things is the church’s emphasis on “connectionalism.” It is common to hear United Methodist leaders speak of the denomination as “the connection.” This concept has been central to Methodism from its beginning.
